Blackberry Playbook: First Tablet from RIM

Tablet computer lately become a trend since Apple launched its tablet computer called the iPad. iPad is launched by using the maturity owned by the iPhone. It makes iPad is a tablet which first launched and instantly have many applications.

Playbook is designed by RIM to use the System On Chip (SoC) from Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP 4430. Same with the NVIDIA Tegra 2, this SoC ARM Cortex A9 processors using dual-headed with a speed of up to 1 GHz. For the graphics, TI OMAP 4430 uses graphics from Imagination Technologies PowerVR SGX 540 which has approximately the same computing performance with Tegra 2. No lag, memory installed has a capacity of 1 GB.

Interestingly, the SoC embedded in this Playbook has a chipset itself is capable of playing video with 1080p resolution. This makes the TI OMAP 4430 SoC is more powerful than the Tegra 2.
