Sharp Announces 3D Aquos SH8298U Android Phone

Sharp has unveiled a new Aquos smartphone, the SH8298U, which will be initially offered to customers at Japanese carrier SoftBank. It remains unclear if the device will reach other markets to compete with other smartphones such as LG's Optimus 3D via Pocketnow By Electronista Staff.

It features a display that supports glasses-free 3D and has dual cameras on the back of 8-megapixels each for you to capture both 3D stills and videos. It also comes in some fun colors, in either white or red. Sharp Aquos SH8298U wear QHD resolution 4.2-inch screen, MSM8255 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 1.4 GHz, 512MB RAM, 2GB of internal storage media, and the 1240mAh battery. These specifications are still under the 3D or HTC LG Optimus 3D EVO except at the camera while taking 8MP both competitors wore 5MP.

The device will come running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be launching on SoftBank in Japan. However, an exact date of availability hasn’t been revealed yet and neither has pricing. Availability for other markets such as the US are also unlikely.
